FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

• Will I be able to purchase food and drinks at the event?

Yes, food and drinks, including alcohol, are on sale atColour in South Africa. 

The consumption of your own food and drinks is not allowed and you may not bring your own alcohol or food.

• Is there an age restriction?

Over 18 or older only.

• Can I bring my camera, cellphone, watch and other electronic devices?

You may bring all electronics, however, please bear in mind that these products like cameras and cellphones, may get damaged by the powder.

We do advise to keep these protected in a bag, plastic cover or similar.

• What should I wear to the festival?

We recommend you wear white and leave colourful!

Comfortable shoes are recommended and clothing you don’t mind getting full of colour.

Safety glasses can also be worn to protect the eyes, especially for people who wear contact lenses. 

• How do I know when to throw my powder?

There will be a series of countdown’s via the main stage that dictate when powder is thrown.

• If I pre-purchase my tickets, where do I get my powder from?

If you buy a “General Access with powder” ticket, you’ll be able to collect your powder at a specific entrance on the day. 

Just make sure you have your ticket with you.

• Is the powder harmful?

No,  the powder is completely non-toxic, water soluble and environmentally friendly.

• Where can I get more powder?

Powder will be available at various stalls on the day.

• Will there be tickets on sale on the day of the event at the venue?

Yes, but only a limited amount.

SAFETY & COMFORT ADVICE

#1: WEAR GOGGLES

Although the colours are completely natural, a pair of goggles or sunglasses helps protect against unnecessary eye irritation.

#2: APPLY/WEAR OIL OR LOTION

The paint will adhere better and it is easier to rinse off later. We also recommend a cap or hat.

#3: Wear Old Clothes

Although the powder can be easily washed out, you should not wear/bring your best clothes with you. 

Tip: You could purchase an original white ‘Colour in South Africa T-Shirts’ available for both men and woman.

#4: WEAR WHITE CLOTHES

The colours bear out brightest on white fabric!

#5: CONTACT LENS

If possible, rather wear glasses rather than contact lenses as the paint may cause irritation on the contacts.

#6: CLOSE YOUR EYES & KEEP YOUR MOUTH CLOSED!

You will you pelted with coloured powder, so be sure to keep your eyes and mouth closed at these times.

# 7: RESPECT OTHERS!

If someone does not want to be pelted with powder, please respect their wishes. We would like everyone to enjoy themselves together.

#8: WASHING & REMOVING COLOUR POWDER

The colour powder should be as dry as possible before attempting to wipe it off. Then rinse off with warm water.
